How time flies by. It seems like yesterday that I sent out my news letter for 2009.

My wife, Ella, is still my private secretary. I try to fire her every Monday and she threatens to quit on Friday complaining of the harassment and poor pay. She enjoys making all of the clients feel welcome along with an awesome cup of tea.

The London Free Press did a pictorial write up of our farm in the Home Section on November 21st, www.lfrpress.com/homes. Janis Wallace’s special report painted our home as a “peaceful pastoral retreat.”

"As you walk up the hill, the drive covered by a canopy of evergreens, it feels almost like an enchanted path to another world. A regal pair of swans on the pond adds more fairytale flavour.”

Because of your very kind references I have had a very busy year counseling. Many of you have taken the time to drive from: Toronto, Sarnia, Scarborough, Hamilton, Camlachie, Guelph Brantford, St Mary’s, Exeter, Harrow, Peterborough, Kincardine, Goderich, Stoney Creek, Woodstock, Winnipeg and all the places in between. I sincerely value the trust you placed in me to explore educational/career choices with you.

2010 will be of a year of challenge for us all The road will be long but, we can’t go back to the way things were. Frugality will replace frivolity as we learn to live within our means. Bigger is not, in itself, better.
With a positive perspective we can hope for a better to-morrow. We will put our people back to work and keep open the doors of opportunity for our children if we but persevere.

Ella and I have enjoyed sharing our home, gardens, swans and trout with you. I have to acknowledge the love/dedication of our Lab Doodle, Monty, for extending a hearty welcome to all of our visitors.

We are truly blessed to reside in a country that is a clean, safe, place to raise a family. Pause for a moment to embrace your loved ones.

On behalf of Ella and myself, I want to extend good wishes to you and your families for a healthy/happy new year.
