PARENT, DAUGHTERS CAN SAVOUR CLINTON’S MOMENT IN HISTORY

Americans can walk a little prouder with Hillary the first women who proudly declared her status as the presumptive Democratic nominee in the history of the United States.

Who a decade of so ago thought that the US would have Barack Obama, the first Black President, for two terms followed by Hillary who if elected will be the first women President to grace the White House?

All of the cant’s for visible minorities and women has now been replaced with "just watch me". All of the citizens of the US can if they persevere can be and do anything they aspire to if they but put their best foot forward. Dreams can become reality for our children if they are smart, hard working with good willpower and the ability to embrace positive change.

What was was and what is, is if you believe in yourself. Our grandmothers fought for the right to vote and hold public office in the face of those who would deny them the right to self actualize and make a difference and in the end they were successful.

Someday our daughters will tell of Hillary’s bravery to their children to stand up and fight for what she thought was right. Hopefully they will be telling this story one day. About back when it was really weird when only one women ran for president, but now many women are running for president

Canadians can be very proud that we have female mayors, Superior Court Justices, Federal Cabinet Ministers and Premiers across the land who every day make hard decisions and are role models for our daughters. Equality is still not a right for women; you have to earn the respect by hard work and perseverance if you want to be successful in to-days society.

In November the US will elect a new president and I wager that Hillary will whip Donald Trump’s ass who represents an old stock mentality where older white men thought that just being wealthy males was tantamount to being successful. Blacks, Moslems, Hispanics and women will show their tenacity by voting for viable change in the United States and vote for Hillary to lead them. It’s 2016 and the world and United States are ready and eager for positive change. My granddaughters will have a positive female role model in the White House to emulate. Who could ask for anything more?
