WE ARE ALL GOD’S CHILDREN

Many people seem to have so much hate that they kill innocent people in their houses of worship. We no longer have safe sanctuaries to pray. There was a time that places of worship guaranteed one’s safety; hate and anger were not to harm to those who entered to pray to their God.

Mosques in Quebec City and even Christ Church in New Zealand were now fair game to those who want to destroy Muslims.

Synagogues, houses of worship, for Jews in Pittsburgh and yesterday, Saturday April 27th in Poway California are easy targets for those with assault weapons to inflict death and destruction. It was the end of the Passover celebrations to remember the freeing of the Jews from the oppresion of the Jews in Egypt.

The Christian faithful are not immune to the scentless slaughter of hundreds killed and injured by suicide bombers when they prayed at their churches in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday that is one of the holiest day of the year.

No longer do I sit in my seat at Or Shalom Synagogue on Saturday mornings to extend a "Sabbat Shalom", a peaceful Sabbath, to my fellow congregants without pondering. What if?

On the high holidays of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur the holiest days of the year Or Shalom has armed City of London Police officers in the parking lot, entrances and even in the sanctuary to protect us from those who would do us harm.

I have been counseling for many decades thousands of people; I do not understand why the hate and inhumanity to man still exists in society. We are all God’s children and should have the right to pray without fear.
