IT’S DUMB TO YOU USE YOUR SMART PHONE WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING

Yesterday Ella and I went for a walk on Hamilton Road heading to the village to the fishing hole. We took the time to cross the road facing the traffic while walking on the shoulder to avoid the oncoming traffic heading into London.

To our amazement a car careened down the hill at a very high of speed from the Shell Station; mounted the shoulder and drove right at us. We dove into the ditch and the driver slammed on her breaks. To our amazement she exited her SUV with her cell phone in her hand.

The stats tell us that the number one killer on the highways is due to distracted drivers who are multi tasking. We all know that it is illegal/dumb to use your smart phone when we are behind the wheel but there are too many who are addicted to their umbilical life lines literally 24/7.

The OPP tell us that there is a 37% delayed reaction time equivalent to driving over the alcohol limit making one an impaired driver

Please leave your cell phone in your purse or in your coat pocket when you are driving. Eyes on the road, hands on the wheel and attention to driving safely and you will not create another driving statistic with injury and death.
